ROCKFORD, MI – A small rural village in the Dominican Republic has improved access to safe drinking water, thanks to a collaboration between Wolverine Worldwide Inc., Safe Water Team and Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
The group provided the village of Canostillo Batey with 50 HydrAid water filters made by Triple Quest, a Cascade Township firm that makes water filters that use sand and gravel to provide safe drinking water without moving parts or expensive chemicals.
The initiative marks an expansion of Triple Quest’s effort to build strategic partnerships with multi-national companies that are dedicated to creating social value as well as profits, according to a news release issued by Triple Quest and Wolverine Worldwide on Tuesday.
